Lot's Going On At Applewood Winery
Applewood Winery is in one of our favorite parts of the world - Warwick, New York. They have a lot of fun events to show up for this summer...and a lot of great wine too! Howard G. Goldberg once wrote of them, this "is a mom-and-pop operation begun in 1993. Jonathan Hull and his wife, Michele, sell a spicy, tangy apple wine....Summer Fields, a semidry seyval that vaguely resembles a light German wine. Don't pass up the cider and doughnuts.

Some of their wines include:
SEYVAL/CHARDONNAY: Color, White, Dry, Serving temp. Cold. A crisp, fresh white.
RIESLING: Semi-Dry, serve chilled. A whisper of fruit to start, cool & dry at the finish
SUMMER FIELDS: Semi Dry. A soft & fruity Seyval Blanc with peach & apricot notes.
WAWAYANDA WHITE: Semi-Dry. Light & crisp.
STONE FENCE HARD CIDER: Semi-Dry, award winning sparkling cider with a subtle taste of honey.
APPLE BLOSSOM BLUSH: Blush, semi-dry, blend of apples and red grapes.
MACINTOSH: White, semi-dry, 100% varietal apple wine.
AUTUMN MIST: Sweet apple dessert wine. The New York Times said captures "the essence of apple....[a] treat."
MERLOT: Dry, with a hint of black pepper in the finish.
CABERNET FRANC: Rich, dry, noble red, with big berry taste.
BLUEBERRY: Red, semi-sweet, dessert wine made from blueberries.
STRAWBERRY: Sweet – 100% strawberry dessert wine.

Wine & Food Workshop– Sun. July 30th 2pm– Spend the afternoon with Chef Jody enjoying a variety of small bites to eat paired with Applewood wine. Jody will discuss how the different elements of flavor interact with the components in wine. Learn how to apply this information to serving wine with your favorite meals. Includes wine journal, wine glass & corkscrew $20 per person reservations required.
Bounty of the Hudson- Sat. July 29 & Sun July 30 –Wine Trail Event. Rotating event including 12-15 Hudson Valley Wineries, restaurants, music & more. This year at Adair in New Paltz .Reservations Req. (fee)
Picnic in the Vineyard – Sat. Aug. 5 – Take a wagon ride to the vineyard & toast the grapevines., includes light picnic supper, Live music . Reservations req. $25.00 per person/Club members $20.00 per person
Food & Wine Workshop- Sat. Aug 12 & Sun. Aug 13 –Join us in the“cellar” to taste & compare. Enjoy food pairing samples & suggestions by our special guest. Sessions at 2 & 4 PM $20 per person,
Steak out BBQ/Wino Pick up Party– Sat. Aug. 19 & Sun. Aug. 20 Enjoy your choice of Steaks,chicken or Salmon – cooked on an opens pit charcoal grill as you enjoy live music in the courtyard -reservations req. (fee)
Labor Day Weekend Open House – Sat. Sept. 2- Mon. Sept. 4 12th Annual Open House – Free Tours & Live Music in our Courtyard. Café open all 3 days.
