Chatham Brewery Wins Crystal Apple Award, Expansion is Almost Complete

Chatham Brewing won the 25th Crystal Apple Award. Chatham Brewing was one of six finalists for the award that included Bodhi Holistic LLC, Family Eyecare Center, Pondside Nursery, The Barlow and The Spine Institute of Columbia Memorial Hospital. The Crystal Apple Award is presented to a chamber member business to recognize an extraordinary contribution to economic progress, community improvement and the quality of life in Columbia County over the previous year. The official slates of six nominees were nominated by their business peers. The ballot of official nominees is mailed to the chamber membership for voting to determine the recipient of the award, which consists of a stunning crystal apple: The apple that symbolizes Columbia County’s simple beauty, agricultural heritage and high quality of life.

More important than that, Chatham Brewing has undergone a complete and massive transition from a small batch brewer, to a brewer set for the big time! Massive new tanks, a massive new infrastructure, and lots of space have all afforded Chatham Brewing the opportunity to join the big boys of the valley in a huge way, and take their place among the mid-level brewers of the state. It's incredibly exciting!

Their old brew works is now positioned to be their seasonal brew area, where they'll continue to do small batches in unique styles more appropriate to the season. They found a new home in the store front of the brewery.

Chatham has also extended their bottled beers line in 22 oz. bottles. Big serious ales go in these! But a big, shiny new canning line is on it's way!

Now, here's the real thing! Big, brand new stainless steel will enable Chatham Brewing to make much larger batches of their core products which they will bottle and can. Also a whole new line of kegs will increase their presence in bars and restaurants throughout the valley and state.

Long one of the boutique brewers in the state with a good reputation, Chatham is taking a big, big step forward. Very, very exciting!
