Henry Hudson inspires Hyde Park artist’s cider label design

HYDE PARK – The fate of legendary explorer Henry Hudson – after whom the Hudson River is named – inspired the design and name of a new hard cider an Ulster County winery produced.
Hyde Park artist Tatiana Rhinevault painted the label for Mutiny, by Glorie Farm Winery in Marlboro. The painting depicts Hudson, his young son, and several of his men adrift in a rowboat in icy water watching a larger ship sail away — a mutiny that allegedly occurred a few years after he discovered the Hudson River and took his men on an ill-fated search for a northwest passage to Asia.
First vintages of the cider sell for $14, according to the Glorie Farm Website. The farm also produces a pumpkin-spiced fall whine. For more information, visit: http://gloriewine.com/glorie-wines.
