Hudson Valley Distillers Shine

It was something that had never happened before. Even though they al pretty much knew each other. For the first time ever, at TasteCamp 2014, al of the Hudson Valleys distillers were in one room (save Delaware Phoenix). That's a pretty tall order. These folks are in demand. And to get all of them in one spot for even a few hours is a big deal, but a representative from each distillery was there!!!!

It was a Grand Tasting of Hudson Valley spirits for the attending writers and bloggers of Taste Camp 2014 Hudson Valley, sponsored by Lenn Thompson and he New York Cork Report in cooperation with Hudson Valley Wine Country.

The event was held at Hillrock Estate Distillery, and Jeffrey Baker, the owner, played master of Ceremonies. After giving a tour, and introducing everyone to Dave Pickerell, the Master Distiller, the attendees were able to sample the Hillrock wares as well as other distilled products rom around the valley.

The fabulous Danielle Eddy, the PR wiz of HIllrock.

Timothy Welly, the man who keeps the trains running at Hillrock.

After the tour, the Grand Tasting commenced. It was something to behold watching more than a dozen writers mill about on a chilly October morning, sipping spirits before 10am in the morning. It's a hard job, but someone has to do it. In the end, it was an impressive showing. It showed the absolutely fantastic product coming out of the valley, and one of the three very strong pillars of the Hudson Valley beverage community, along with wine and cider.

Dutch's Spirits was there.
